This facility acts as a central gathering place for Indigenous students, alumni, staff and the campus inclusively.  The building was designed using an Integrated Design Process with a design team comprised of l Elders, student reps, Indigenous Alumni, and program staff, LEED and engineering consultants.  The project design was based on the teachings of traditional medicine wheel balanced with the formal historic planning of the University.

Locally quarried stone and various other indigenous materials were used in the design of the facility.  We worked closely with the architects to ensure that the collaboration with the local artists and curators expressed their design for the display of historical artefacts and traditional artwork.
